First Lutheran School works hard to surpass the academic guidelines established by the Oklahoma Department of Education by providing a challenging and engaging curriculum for our students.
First Lutheran School Curriculum
First Lutheran School follows Oklahoma guidelines. FLS also works closely with Ponca City School District to make sure our students are ready for the transition to High School. The school district has adopted content standards and assessments. These assessments allow teachers, students and parents to see where individuals are in reaching and/or exceeding District Standards. The measures will determine whether the student has successfully learned grade level standards. The results of these measures will enable teachers to teach to your child's individual needs and strengths.
God's Word is the tool God has provided to produce Christian growth in knowledge, attitude, conduct, love, and faith. The basic elementary school subjects are taught adequately and progressively with application of the Gospel to the learner and to the teaching-learning process. All subjects comply with "Integrating the Faith" for Lutheran Schoolsand the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
A curriculum guide is available for detailed information on objectives for each grade level.
